“All You Need Is Love” is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in July 1967. “All you need is love, All you need is love, All you need is love, love, Love is all you need.”
A couple of thousand years before that, a young ruler asked Jesus which is the great commandment in the Law, and He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Even after that time two thousand years ago, people are still wondering what is the most important commandment in the Bible. Parents often wonder what is the one key thing they need to provide for their children. The answer to both is Love! Love is all you need!
Love God. Love people. Love should be the motive for parenting.
Love is the reason we celebrate Easter.
